Hi, I’m Ethan, founder of Ethan Teaches Maths. I’m a First-Class Mathematics graduate from the University of Birmingham (81% average), a Management Consultant at Capgemini Invent, and a close combat instructor with a national counter-terrorism charity. Over the past nine years, I’ve delivered 7,000+ hours of lessons and specialise in 11+, 13+, KS3, GCSE, A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics (all exam boards), and the International Baccalaureate. I also prepare students for the Junior and Intermediate Maths Challenges (including Olympiad rounds) and university entrance aptitude tests such as the MAT, TMUA, and GMAT.

At the beginning of each new topic, our tutors assess the student’s existing knowledge using a variety of techniques to establish a clear starting point. This evaluation guides our use of a mix of exam-style and textbook questions throughout the lessons to ensure active and engaging learning. We provide a wealth of resources, including free textbooks, which are integral to our teaching and for assigning homework. Homework is vital—it consolidates the concepts taught in lessons, deepens understanding, and ultimately enhances performance.
